Privacy Policy

Effective February 24, 2026

The Best Weather App is built to give you accurate weather data as simply as possible. This policy explains what data the app uses, why, and how it's handled.

The short version: We use your location to get your forecast. We don't track you, we don't run analytics, and we don't show ads.

Information We Collect

Location data. When you grant permission, the app accesses your device's location (latitude and longitude) to fetch weather forecasts for where you are. This is the core function of the app. You can also search for locations by name and save them as favourites.

Preferences. Your settings (such as temperature unit) are stored locally on your device.

That's it. We do not collect your name, email, phone number, device identifiers, or any other personal information. There is no account system, no sign-up, and no login.

How We Use Your Data

Third-Party Services

The app retrieves weather data from:

These services receive the coordinates needed to fulfill your forecast request. They do not receive any other information about you.

The backend runs on Google Firebase (privacy policy). Firebase is used solely for hosting the API and caching forecast data. Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics are not enabled.

Analytics and Tracking

None. The app does not include any analytics SDKs, crash reporting tools, advertising frameworks, or tracking pixels. We do not track how you use the app.

Data Storage and Retention

Permissions

The app requests the following Android permissions:

Children's Privacy

The app does not knowingly collect any personal information from children. Since the app collects no personal information from anyone, no special provisions are needed.

Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new effective date.
